Summer 2011 News
We are pleased to inform our members and guests at the Atrium Beach Resort & Spa that several much-needed renovations and improvements are underway. We know you may be wondering how the Special Assessment funds are being spent, and we would like to provide this brief outline of the items that are being addressed in 2011. We are looking forward to making this progress, and we know that you will be thrilled with the end result.
1. The exterior of the building is being completely painted from top to bottom.
2. The roof has been repaired to prevent any further water leaks.
3. The generator has been repaired including a new muffler and radiator housing.
4. The pool has been resurfaced and changed to a salt based system to reduce overall yearly expenses for chemical usage.
5. In 2011, 28 rooms will be completely refurbished. A design color board showing the selected finishes is on display in the lobby. The improvements include:
a. All new soft goods including sofas, chairs and patio furniture.
b. All case goods including nightstands, tables, dressers, armoires, headboards, kitchen cabinets and counter tops.
c. All appliances will be replaced with new energy efficient models.
d. Shutters will be used to replace drapery at sliding glass doors as well as new drapery in bedrooms, etc.
e. All artwork will be replaced.
f. All faucets will be replaced in kitchen and baths.
g. Lighting package will also be replaced.
h. All bedspreads, skirts and accent pillows will also be replaced.
6. We will also be refurbishing the lobby for a more inviting atmosphere during 2011.
7. One of the elevators will have the hydraulics replaced in 2011.
8. Over the course of the next few years, all rooms will be refurbished to meet the same standards as those being refurbished in 2011.
We sincerely hope you enjoy your vacation time with us at the Atrium and are certain that these renovations will only add to your enjoyment. We know that many of our members have been curious about how the special assessment has been spent and where the future funds will be spent. We hope that this brief description will demonstrate our ongoing progress and will give you a preview of the future improvements for you and your family. While some of the special assessment has been spent on essential repairs that our guests are unable to see, you can be confident that the monies have been spent on items that were crucial to make the Atrium run more efficiently and provide a basis for necessary repairs and renovations.
Thank you all for your understanding and patience as we transform the Atrium Beach Resort & Spa into one of the most desirable vacation destinations in St. Maarten.
